Summary:The invention provides a control method for a fuel cell system having a fuel cell of the solid oxide type, which receives supplies of an anode gas and a cathode gas to generate power. The control method for the fuel cell system includes an anode protection implementation determining process for determining whether to implement an anode protection process by applying a predetermined protection current to the fuel cell so as to suppress catalyst oxidation in the anode of the fuel cell.
