Summary: | The systems, devices, and methods discussed herein are directed to a network for delivering to portable communication devices, or user equipment (UEs) subscribed to the network, an update for an install service, such as software and firmware, via a hybrid transport mechanism. The hybrid transport mechanism comprises initially broadcasting the update to multiple UEs simultaneously, then re-broadcasting, multicasting, multiple unicasting, and/or transmitting via a wireless local area network (WLAN), the update to a group of UEs that missed the initial broadcast and/or needing file repairs.
