Summary:The invention relates to a fluid suitable for the pollution control of exhaust gases, in particular of internal combustion engines, making it possible both to carry out the catalytic reduction of thenitrogen oxides (DeNOx) contained in the exhaust gases and to assist in the regeneration of the particulate filter (PF). The fluid is a homogenous aqueous solution of a reducing agent or precursor ofa reducing agent for the DeNOx, and comprises a metal additive for catalyzing the oxidation of particles from the exhaust gases. This metal additive is a basic metal carbonate that is soluble in saidaqueous solution.
