The invention discloses a cable which comprises a cable core and a smooth metal sheath arranged in the peripheral part of the cable core. A semi-conductive water-blocking tape is arranged between thesmooth metal sheath and the cable core. The smooth metal sheath makes surface contact with the semi-conductive water-blocking tape, so that the electrical contact performance is high, partial discharge does not occur during operation of a finished cable, and long-term safe reliable operation of the cable can be ensured. The semi-conductive water-blocking tape does not generate a too heavy volume current after being extruded, so that the external surface of an insulated shielding layer of the cable core is avoided from burning or discharge traces. Via surface contact between the smooth metal sheath and the semi-conductive water-blocking tape, a vertical water-blocking effect therebetween is better, and the water seepage distance after water inlet into the cable can be limited effectively.
