Summary: | Provided is a manufacturing method for a continuous alumina fiber sheet, the method comprising: (I) a step for obtaining an alumina fiber precursor by spinning a spinning dope that has an aluminum compound and a silicon compound as main components; (II) a step for depositing the alumina fiber precursor on an accumulating device to make a precursor continuous sheet; (III) a step for slicing a surface layer of the sheet with a slicer apparatus (1) and thereby smoothing the precursor continuous sheet; (IV) a step for performing an interlacing operation on the precursor continuous sheet via needling; and (V) a step for firing the precursor continuous sheet. Also provided is a continuous alumina fiber sheet in which the variation in the friction coefficient of at least one surface thereof is 10% or less.
