The invention provides an ecological prevention and control method of ambrosia trifida in a hilly area. The ecological prevention and control method comprises the following steps: (1) in the period from the end of October until snowfall every year, at gullies which are invaded by a large amount of ambrosia trifida in a hilly meadow and/or part of gullies where the ambrosia trifida is distributed,according to gully terrains, ditches are dug in the two sides of the gullies correspondingly from the hilly slope crest to the slope base on the ground plane, and the spacing between the two ditches in the two sides is based on the width of the ditches; and (2) on the basis, in the period from autumn pasture withering until snowfall each year, polyvinyl chloride films are laid at the bottoms of the ditches, the width of the covering films is the same as the width of the ditches, and after the snow is completely molten in April of the following year, the covering films are removed.
