Summary: | A bidirectional optical amplifier used for single-fiber bidirectional transmission includes four multi-channel dense optical wavelength division multiplexers, two optical isolators of corresponding wavelength ranges, an erbium-doped fiber, a pump laser, a pump laser isolator, a beam splitter, and two wavelength division multiplexers. The amplifier is simple and convenient to manufacture, is lowerin cost than other bidirectional optical amplifiers, is simple and symmetrical in structure, and can simultaneously suppress temperature drift of various active devices and passive components in forward and reverse directions in a closed-loop operating state; and the amplifier is low in noise, can suppress related noise such as spontaneous radiation and Rayleigh scattering which are amplified fromthe back, and can fully satisfy the requirements of low noise, high symmetry and relay amplification in various scenarios such as long-distance time-frequency transmission and various digital communication transmission.
