The invention provides a display device which is equipped with a plurality of pixels that are disposed in two dimensions, and that each includes an organic electroluminescent element that emits lightof one of a plurality of colors. The plurality of pixels have: a first insulating film disposed along one direction for each luminescent color, and having an opening at each pixel; a second insulatingfilm extending along the arrangement direction of each luminescent color in the regions between pixels of different luminescent colors on the first insulating film; and an organic layer formed in theopenings, and including a luminescent layer.
