Summary: | The invention relates to a layered double hydroxide flame retardant with the surface covalently modified with polyacid intercalation layer and a preparation method thereof. Layered double hydroxide isprepared by a precipitation method; then, a reaction with the hydroxyl group on the surface of the layered double hydroxide is conducted for covalent modification of a phosphorus/nitrogen-containingorganic compound; and finally by a stripping recombination method, a phosphorus-containing Keggin type polyacid intercalation layer is used for modification of the layered double hydroxide. The problem that the layered double hydroxide has poor compatibility with the matrix is solved; and by combining the characteristics of high-efficiency flame retardancy of the phosphorus/nitrogen-containing organic compound, the influence of long-chain surfactant-modified layered double hydroxide on the flame retardant property is avoided.
