Summary:The present invention relates to a thread-splicing apparatus (10) for pneumatically connecting the ends of yarns, in particular for yarn joining of upper yarns (31) and lower yarns (32) of an elasticfiber yarn, having a yarn joining prism (19) of a yarn joining passage (20) of acceptable compressed air, a pneumatically-prepared holding opening pipe (34) for the ends of yarns, a plurality of yarnclamping devices for manipulating or cutting the ends of yarns, a plurality of yarn cutting devices (11, 17) and a retaining mechanism for fixing the free length of the cut yarn end and spaced apart from the yarn joining passage (20) of the yarn joining prism (19).
