Summary: | The invention discloses a higher alcohol ester and a preparation method thereof and belongs to the technical field of higher alcohol esters. The method comprises the following steps: mixing high alcohols and higher aliphatic acids according to a molar ratio of 1:(0.8-1.2), heating to a molten state, uniformly mixing, and cooling the mixture to room temperature; heating the cooled mixture to 150-350 DEG C in an inert atmosphere, and maintaining the temperature for 25-35 minutes, thereby obtaining the higher alcohol ester, wherein the high alcohols are tetradecanol, hexadecanol or octadecanol; and the higher aliphatic acids are canoic acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid or stearic acid. According to the preparation method disclosed by the invention, the raw materials are cheap and readily available, the reaction conditions are simple and convenient to operate, and the reaction time is short.
