Summary:The invention provides a symmetric long-range surface plasmon resonance sensor which comprises a broad-spectrum light source, a multimode optical fiber, an optical fiber sensing unit and a spectrometer, wherein the optical fiber sensing unit is respectively connected with the broad-spectrum light source and the spectrometer by the multimode optical fiber; the optical fiber sensing unit comprises aside-polished single-mode optical fiber which is sequentially plated with a dielectric film, a metal film and a medium film on a surface from the inside to the outside.
