The invention provides a surface quality detecting device for a cylindrical object. The device comprises three independent parts, namely, a spring limiting plate device, a cylinder driving device anda gear box transmission device, wherein the spring limiting plate device is capable of realizing limiting through a baffle plate and driving a gear box to perform transmission; the gear box transmission mechanism performs transmission by engaging a gear and a rack; a rack sliding platform, a slide rail supporting platform and a rack baffle plate are connected through screws; and the cylinder driving device is connected to a table board through a bolt.
