The invention relates to a target tracking method. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring a first feature point set of a t-th frame image, wherein t is a natural number greater than 0; combining the first set of feature points with a tth set of feature points; matching a first feature point library corresponding to the frame image to obtain a second feature point set; tracking the first feature point set using the first feature point library to obtain a third feature point set; using the second set of feature points and the third set of feature points to obtain a first target frame of the t-th frame image; the first feature point set being processed by the first target block, and the first feature point library being updated to obtain the updated second feature point library.The object tracking method of the invention improves the real-time performance and robustness of the object tracking, can accurately track the object which is deformed or occluded, and improves the accuracy rate of the object
