Summary: | The invention relates to a method for monitoring an AC voltage source (12) which is DC-decoupled from a reference potential (15) and generates an AC voltage (USG) between two AC voltage lines (13, 14). The invention provides for each of the AC voltage lines (13, 14) to be coupled to the reference potential (15) via a particular capacitive voltage divider (17, 18) and for a particular partial voltage signal (Vmeas_1,Vmeas_2) to be tapped off at the voltage dividers (17, 18) and to be used to generate at least one root mean square signal (rms (Vd), rms (Vs)) and for a check to be carried out inorder to determine whether the particular root mean square signal (rms (Vd), rms (Vs)) satisfies a predetermined trigger criterion and for a fault signal (25) to be generated if the trigger criterion(Z0) is satisfied.
