Summary:The invention relates to a gold (Au) nanoparticle modified molybdenum sulfide (M2O)/titanium oxide (TiO2) composite material and a preparation method thereof. The material can be used as a hydrogen evolution material with high catalytic performance. The preparation method comprises the following three processes: preparing pure TiO2 by using an electrochemical anodizing method, coupling MoS2/TiO2 by means of chemical vapor deposition (CVD), and carrying out vacuum evaporation to modify MoS2/TiO2 heterojunction by using Au nanoparticles, wherein the pure TiO2 is prepared by means of oxidation inorganic electrolyte containing glycerol and by using a two-electrode system; the coupling of the MoS2/TiO2 is synthesized by means of chemical vapor deposition in a CVD tube furnace; the Au nanoparticles are deposited on the surface of the MoS2/TiO2 heterojunction for modifying in a thermal evaporation way in a vacuum evaporation apparatus. The composite material has a narrow band gap and high catalytic active sites of M
