The invention relates to a biodegradable stent and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the steps that a raw tubular material is prepared, wherein the raw tubular material having predetermined inner and outer diameters is prepared by a biodegradable material; an expansion is executed, wherein the raw tubular material is put in a die and is heated and pressurized, so thatthe raw tubular material expands to make its outer diameter size reaching the inner diameter size of the die; the stent is prepared, wherein the expanding tubular material is cooled, and the final biodegradable stent is prepared. By adopting the method, the grain size can be still effectively controlled by adjusting parameters of an expansion process even if the radial expansion ratio of the tubular material is higher than 500%, the enough toughness of the material is kept, and the strength of the material is remarkably improved.
