Summary:The invention discloses an acoustic emission detector for a pressure pipeline of a nuclear power station and a method. The acoustic emission detector comprises an emission transducer, wherein a signalcable is arranged at the top of the emission transducer; a first wave guide rod is arranged at the bottom of the emission transducer; and the first wave guide rod and the emission transducer are of an integrated structure. The acoustic emission detector further comprises a second wave guide rod of which one end is connected to the end part of the first wave guide rod and the other end is connected to an adapter base; the adapter base is mounted on a main pipeline or a surge pipeline; and the length of the second wave guide rod is greater than the thickness of an insulating layer.
