Summary:The invention discloses a fault location algorithm based on an optical cable line. The structure of the optical cable line is changed from optical cable line associated support points into optical cable line associated support points, an optical line associated route segment and support points corresponding to the route segment; a line composed of two adjacent support points is set as the route segment; from initial basic data, the optical cable line calculates and stores the start and stop points, lengths and reserved length information of the subordinate route segment; the fault location algorithm is carried out; and the accurate coordinate of the fault point is calculated on the basis of the start and stop points and preserved lengths thereof.
