Summary:The present invention discloses a method for processing log messages and a background service system, and can increase positioning efficiency for problematic service nodes. The method in an embodimentof the present invention comprises: receiving, by the background service system, a first remote procedure call (RPC) protocol message sent by a remote terminal; setting, by the background service system, a target identifier in the first RPC message according to the first RPC message to obtain a second RPC message if the first RPC message satisfies a preset condition, wherein the target identifieris used for marking a time sequence of each service node when the second RPC message is transmitted to each service node of the background service system; generating, by the background service system, log messages in a fixed format according to the second RPC message and current call information of the acquired second RPC message when the second RPC message is transmitted to each service node with respect to each service
