The invention relates to a conveyor system (10) for conveying materials to be conveyed (14), having a conveyor belt (12), a transfer device (18) for transferring the materials to be conveyed (14) ontothe conveyor belt (12), and a belt system in which the conveyor belt (12) is guided. The belt system has a first belt shaping device (20) with which the conveyor belt (12) can be shaped into a U-shape until the transfer device (18) is reached such that the conveyor belt (14) can be brought out of a substantially flat shape into the U-shape, and the conveyor belt (12) can be shaped into a closed tube in the conveyor direction adjacently to the transfer device (18) by means of a second belt shaping device (21). The transfer device (18) has a catching region (36) which is designed such that materials to be conveyed (14) accumulate in said region and form an impact surface (38) onto which the materials to be conveyed (14) can be transferred.
