A display apparatus and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The display apparatus includes a display panel, a data driving part and a gate driving part. The gate driving part outputs gate signals to gate lines, respectively, increases the gate signal from a first gate off voltage to a gate on voltage, decreases the gate signal from the gate on voltage to the first gate off voltage, decreases the gate signal from the first gate off voltage to a second gate off voltage in a slope less than a slope in which the gate signal decreases from the gate on voltage to the first gate off voltage,during P (P is a natural number) horizontal time in which P gate line of the gate lines is driven, and increases the gate signal from the second gate off voltage to the first gate off voltage. 公开了显示装置和驱动显示装置的方法，显示装置包括显示面板、数据驱动部和栅极驱动部。栅极驱动部分别向栅极线输出栅极信号，使栅极信号从第栅极截止电压增加至栅极导通电压，使栅极信号从栅极导通电压降低至第栅极截止电压，使栅极信号在栅极线中的P条栅极线被驱动的P个(P为自然数)水平时间期间以比栅极信号从栅极导通电压降低至第栅极截止电压的斜率小的斜率从第栅极截止电压降低至第二栅极截止电压，以及使栅极信号从第二栅极截止电压增加至第栅极截止电压。
