The invention relates to a vertical type drying machine control system and a drying method thereof. A hot air fan motor is controlled by a fan variable frequency controller. A control loop comprises afeeding control branch circuit, a raking control branch circuit and a fan control branch circuit. The fan control branch circuit is in sequential series connection with a fan stop button, a fan startbutton, a contact of a fourth heat relay and a coil of a tenth relay. First normally-open contacts of the tenth relay are in parallel connection to the two ends of the fan start button. A second normally-open contact of the tenth relay is connected to the start end of the variable frequency controller. A humidity controller is mounted at a drying outlet. Signals detected by the humidity controller are transmitted to the fan variable frequency controller. The drying method comprises the sequential steps of oil pump motor start, door closing, feeding, raking, hot air drying, door opening for discharging, reciprocating m
