The invention relates to a preparing method of light bamboo. The method comprises eight steps that firstly, the bamboo is selected and made into small bamboo blocks; secondly, the bamboo is soaked inpure water and then is subject to oven dry operation; thirdly, the bamboo subject to oven dry operation is put into a reaction still, the temperature is set as 25 DEG C, vacuum pumping is carried out,and an NaOH solution is immersed in the bamboo, and is separated out; fourthly, the bamboo is soaked in low-concentration glacial acetic acid for 24 h and then cleaned through pure water; fifthly, after oven dry operation, the bamboo is put into the reaction still, a paraffin solution is immersed in the bamboo, and then the paraffin solution is pumped out of the bamboo; sixthly, remaining paraffin is separated out; seventhly, a polyethylene glycol solution is prepared for soaking the obtained material for 24 h until the constant weight is achieved; eighthly, freeze drying is carried out, andthe light mao bamboo is obt
