Summary: | Provided is an elevator in which a long object that moves according to the movement of a car has an inter-fulcrum portion reaching from one to the other of two fulcrums which are separated from each other. A longitudinal center section of the inter-fulcrum portion is a large amplitude prediction part. The position of the car, when the position of the car and the position of the large amplitude prediction part are at the same height, is a predicted interference position. A control device, if the sway of a building is sensed by a sensor, stops the car at an avoidance position deviated from the predicted interference position on the basis of information from a car position detection device.
