The invention discloses an automobile fire escape and self-rescue device and a control method. The device comprises a power supply unit, a detecting unit, a control unit and a performing unit, whereinan original vehicle storage battery is separately connected with the detecting unit, the control unit and the performing unit; the power supply unit comprises a solar cell, a stable-voltage module and an original vehicle storage battery which are sequentially connected; the detecting unit comprises a temperature sensor, a smoke sensor, a gas detector and a flame detector; the control unit comprises a single chip microcomputer, a signal filter and amplifying module and a start button for starting a vehicle window glass blaster; and the performing unit comprises the vehicle window glass blaster, a sound-light alarm system and a fire extinguishing system. The real-time condition of engine fire is monitored through multiple sensors comprising the temperature sensor, the smoke sensor, the gasdetector and the flame det
