The invention discloses application of herba taxilli extract in preparation of a medicament for treating rheumatoid arthritis. The application of the herba taxilli extract in the preparation of the medicament for treating the rheumatoid arthritis is characterized in that the extract contains nortrachelogenin, trachelogenin or matairesinol. Experiments show that the levels of IL-1beta (Interleukin-1beta), TNF-alpha (Tumour Necrosis Factor-alpha), IL-6 (Interleukin-6) and IL-17 (Interleukin-17) in serums and joint synovial tissues of rats of a medicated group are all remarkably reduced; the joint swelling degree of the rats of the medicated group is obviously lightened; the pathological changes of the joints of the rats of the medicated group are obviously lightened. 桑寄生提取物在制备治疗类风湿关节炎药物中的应用，其特征是所述的提取物含有去甲络石甙元、络石苷元或罗汉松脂酚。本发明实验表明：给药组大鼠血清和关节滑膜组织中IL-1β、TNF-α、IL-6、IL-17的水平均有显著降低；给药组大鼠关节肿胀程度明显减轻；给药组大鼠关节病理学改变明显减轻。
