Summary:In order to estimate a posture with greater stability and higher accuracy, a posture optimization unit optimizes joint positions, angles, the number of joints, etc., that are the posture parameters ofa human model (tree structure) by a plurality of optimization techniques so that these parameters match an area where a human body can possibly exist, the plurality of optimization techniques being switched to an optimum one for use. The optimization techniques include the steps of: 1: an initial value, 2: an algorithm, and 3: a constraint, and optimization is achieved by switching each of thesethree.
