The invention relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle using a device for requesting an interaction from the driver. The motor vehicle can be operated at least in one operating mode with a partially autonomous or autonomous vehicle guidance function and in an operating mode with a vehicle guidance function which is controlled by the driver. During an operation with the partially autonomous or autonomous vehicle guidance function, a reaction of the driver with respect to an interaction request is checked.
