Summary: | The invention provides a soft low-hydrogen neutron shielding material and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps: mixing 20 parts of an ethylene-polyvinyl acetate copolymer, 0.2-1.4 parts of dibenzoyl peroxide and 0.1-0.8 part of dicumyl peroxide or ditertiary butyl peroxy-isopropyl benzene with a certain amount of methylbenzene, stirring under a heatingcondition till uniform dissolution is reached, adding 80 parts of boron carbide, heating, then putting the mixture into a mold, heating to 110-130 DEG C under a preset pressure condition, keeping for10-60 minutes, increasing the temperature to 140-170 DEG C, keeping for 10-60 minutes, performing cooling demolding, thereby obtaining the soft low-hydrogen neutron shielding material. Compared witha conventional material, the soft low-hydrogen neutron shielding material is high in flexibility, impact resistance, packing compatibility and thermal sealing property, so that a relatively good flexibility property can be met |
