The invention relates to a carotenoid particle preparation and a preparing method thereof. The preparation is a particle preparation formed through the following steps of performing emulsification treatment on a raw material mixture of carotenoids and gelation wall materials, and then performing granulating. The preparation is characterized in that the gelation wall materials are formed by the gelation treatment of a wall material mixture of starch and carbohydrate of which the mass ratio of the starch to the carbohydrate is (1-5) to 1. According to the preparation disclosed by the invention,inherent defects of carotenoid raw materials in application are overcome, the problems of being low in bioavailability, poor in water solubility, and the like are solved; through selection and combination of the gelation wall materials and a deoxidizer, the mechanical strength and the stability of the carotenoid particle preparation are greatly improved; and the carotenoid particle preparation canbe applied to the field o
