Summary: | The invention relates to applications and methods of screening subject having high risk of developing diabetic nephropathy by urine biomarker. A urine biomarker is provided, and more particularly, a screening method using the urine biomarker to screen a subject having a high risk of developing diabetic nephropathy is also provided. The urine biomarker of glycosylated uromodulin can be used to detect and predict diabetic patients having a high risk of developing diabetic nephropathy more accurate and earlier than general detection methods of PCR or ACR tests, thereby the patient being screenedcan be treated earlier and thus prevent deterioration of the progression of chronic kidney disease, and therefore dramatically decrease the risk of death.
