The streaming media pushing method comprises the following steps: receiving a streaming media blocking request sent by a client; confirming Nstreaming media blocks corresponding to the streaming media blocking request according to the buffer size that the client stores the streaming media to be played currently and the network bandwidth inresponse to the streaming media blocking request, wherein the N is an integer greater than or equal to 1; and pushing the confirmed N streaming media blocks to the client. The invention also discloses a streaming media pushing device. 本发明公开了种流媒体推送方法，包括：接收客户端发送的流媒体分块请求；响应所述流媒体分块请求，根据所述客户端当前存放待播放流媒体的缓冲区大小及网络带宽，确定与所述流媒体分块请求对应的N个流媒体分块；N为大于等于1的整数；将确定的N个流媒体分块推送给所述客户端。本发明同时还公开了种流媒体推送装置。
