The method comprises the steps of calculating a prediction point by using a prediction-correction processtracking power flow equation equilibrium solution curve according to a high order Taylor series expansion method, determining a Taylor expansion coefficient, and calculating the step size to gradually approach to the maximum load power point. The device comprises a prediction module, a power flow calculation module and a splitting module. The invention provides a technical scheme of a strict variable step size calculation method based on the Taylor series expansion technology, the involved calculation amount is equivalent to power flow calculation with a small calculation amount, the calculation amount is small, and the calculation efficiency is high.
