The invention discloses a smelting furnace and a method for treating metal waste through the smelting furnace. The smelting furnace comprises a smelting furnace body, a smelting flue, a material inlet, a first air port, a second air port, an air spraying port, a smelting slag outlet and a melt outlet. A reaction area and a smelting pond area are sequentially formed in the smelting furnace body from top to bottom, and a blowing area and a depression area are sequentially formed in the reaction area in the flowing direction of melt in the smelting pond area.
