The invention discloses a method and equipment for managing nodes, and relates to the technical field of communication networks. The method includes receiving physical node requests of target virtualization infrastructure managers VIM by the aid of data center infrastructure managers DIM; determining target physical nodes among registered physical nodes in the same network by the aid of the DIM inresponse to the physical node requests and distributing the target physical nodes for the target VIM. The physical node requests are used for requesting for physical nodes required for deploying to-be-deployed virtual machines VM. The registered physical nodes are the physical nodes which are already registered in the DIM in the same network.
