Summary: | The invention relates to low-molecular-weight C6-carboxyl chitin and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) preparing a chitin raw material into a homogeneous solution by using a functional solvent, wherein the functional solvent contains one or more of phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid; (2) directly adding an acid medium oxidizing agent and a catalyst into the solution obtained in the step (1), carrying out oxidation reaction, so that a hydroxyl at a site C6 is oxidized into a carboxyl, and further depolymerizing the chitin;and (3) regulating pH of the reaction liquid obtained in the step (2) to be 5-6, so that a raw product is obtained, or refining, so that a refined product is obtained. Therefore, molecular weight range of the prepared C6-carboxyl chitin is 500-800, and polymerization degree n is 2-35.
