Summary: | The invention discloses a high-strength aluminum alloy excellent in performance and a preparing method thereof. Elements of Ho and Zr are added into the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu series high-strength aluminum alloy at the same time, and through process steps of burdening, smelting, casting, uniform annealing treatment, solid solution treatment and the like, the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu-Ho-Zr high-strength aluminum alloy with the excellent performance is prepared. The alloy is composed of chemical components including, by weight percent, 6% of Zn, 2.5% of Mg, 1.6% of Cu, 0.5% of Ho, 0.1 to 0.3% of Zr and the balance Al. Due to combination of the purification effect of Ho and the grain refining effect of Zr, the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy structure is obviously refined, impurities are reduced, and the grain boundary is purified; through the uniform annealing treatment and solid solution treatment, the alloy tensile strength is effectively improved, and the alloy comprehensive mechanical property is obviously improved.
