Summary: | The invention relates to a catalyst containing an active phase including at least one group VIIIB metal selected from among cobalt, nickel, ruthenium and iron deposited on a substrate containing silica, alumina, and at least one single spinel MAl2O4 or an optionally partial mixed spinel MXM'(1-X)Al2O4, where M and M' are separate metals selected from the group made up of magnesium, copper, cobalt, nickel, tin, zinc, lithium, calcium, caesium, sodium, potassium, iron and manganese and where x is between 0 and 1, excluding the values 0 and 1, characterised in that said active phase also includes boron, the boron content being between 0.001 wt % and 0.5 wt % relative to the total weight of the catalyst, excluding the value 0.5.
