Summary:The invention relates to a corona ignition device. The device has a center electrode (5) connected with an insulator (3). A coil (7) is connected to the center electrode. The coil is arranged in a housing tube (1). The housing tube provides a support layer (1a) and a conductive layer (1b) that is arranged radially inwardly of the support layer. The support layer is made of a material with a higher electrical conductivity than the material of the support layer, where the thickness of the conductive layer is in the range of 0.1 m.
