The invention provides a mould feeding device and an application method thereof. The mould feeding device comprises a guide base, a rack, a hand type speed reducer, a chain drive mechanism and a mould support. The guide base is located on the ground, and two guide rails are mounted on the guide base; the cantilever type rack with the bottom provided with rollers is arranged on the guide base and rolls along the guide rails; the speed reducer and the chain drive mechanism used for driving the mould support are mounted on the rack, and steel rails used for rolling of the mould support are arranged on the upper portion of the rack; and the left end and the right end of the mould support are connected with long chains, and the mould support is driven by the long chains to move front and back so as to achieve the functions of feeding moulds into and discharging the moulds out of a horizontal forging machine. The mould feeding device is used for replacing moulds for the horizontal forging machine, the auxiliary tim
