The invention relates to an air impermeability detection device and method. The detection device comprises a carrier device, a gas importing device and a gas exporting device and a gas detection device for detecting whether gas exists or not; the gas inlet pipe of the gas importing tube and the gas outlet pipe of the gas exporting tube are separately buried in a first seal ring and a second seal ring. The method applying the detection device comprises the following steps: clamping a chamber type product by the carrier device; sealing a first hole and a second hole on a product by the two seal rings; introducing helium into an inner cavity of the product through the gas inlet tube; after the gas detection head detects that helium in the second hole in the product overflows, surrounding the chamber type product for a cycle by the gas detection head; testing whether the chamber type product leaks helium or not; and judging the leakage point.
