Summary: | The invention relates to a multi-winding multi-speed permanent magnet motor for an electric vehicle, which belongs to permanent magnet synchronous motors and brushless DC motors. The motor comprises a plurality of sub-windings in a three-phase winding unit. Leads are drawn from connection points of the sub-windings connected in series of all the phase winding units and are used as phase lines. Each phase line is corresponding to a rated rotational speed, n sub-windings are corresponding to n phase lines connected with n switches, and the motor has n modes for switching during running. When the motor runs, through running mode switching, the motor runs in a high-efficiency interval no matter if the running is at a high speed or a low speed.
