The invention provides a video transmission method and apparatus. The method comprises the following steps: obtaining a to-be-transmitted video, wherein the video comprises a first video content and a second video content used for enhancing the first video content; extracting first video data and second video data from the video, wherein the first video data are video data collected by an electronic device and used for expressing the first video content, and the second video data are video data used for expressing the second video content; compressing the first video data; and sending the second video data and the compressed first video data.
