The invention discloses an air sealing device and method for a non-linear reciprocating rod piece, and relates to the field of sealing between the rod piece and an equipment shell. The air sealing device comprises a sealing base, a follow-up friction plate and a sealing gland, wherein the sealing base is fixed on the equipment shell, the sealing gland is fixed on the sealing base, a groove in which the follow-up friction plate slides is formed between the sealing gland and the sealing base, holes allowing the rod piece to penetrate through are formed in the sealing base and the follow-up friction plate, the rod piece is inserted into the holes and extends into the shell, the follow-up friction plate and the rod piece are in seamless sliding contact, and the sealing base and the shell, the groove and the follow-up friction plate as well as the follow-up friction plate and the rod piece are in sealed close contact. The air sealing device has the advantages of being reliable in sealing performance, small in leak
