The invention relates to a benzene series detecting and purifying system which comprises a benzene series detection module, a formaldehyde detection module, a processor, a relay and an air purifier. The benzene series detection module detects concentration of benzene series in air, generates benzene series concentration signals and transmits the same to the processor, the formaldehyde detection module detects concentration of formaldehyde in the air, generates formaldehyde concentration signals and transmits the same to the processor, and the processor compares concentration data values of received benzene series concentration signals and formaldehyde concentration signals with a set value respectively and controls the air purifier to start to purify the air through the relay when the concentration data value the benzene series concentration signals or the formaldehyde concentration signals exceeds the set value.
