Summary:The purpose of the present invention is to provide: an efficient method for deciding the blending amount of ash-free coal when producing a coke for blast furnaces; and a process for producing a coke for blast furnaces using said decision method. This method is for deciding the blending amount of ash-free coal obtained by solvent extraction of coal, when producing a coke for blast furnaces which comprises feed coal and the ash-free coal. The method comprises: calculating a reference value W [mass%] from the porosity index Pv [vol%] of the feed coal, the expansibility index D [vol%] of the ash-free coal, and the true specific gravity [Rho] of the ash-free coal using the following equation (1); and deciding the blending amount of the ash-free coal with respect to the blend coal on the basis of the reference value W.
