An automatic focusing test system and method are disclosed. The system is used for testing a video module to be tested and includes a fixed test scene and a focusing control device. The video module to be tested is disposed in the fixed test scene. The focusing control device includes a processing module, a setting module and a control module. The processing module generates a middle threshold position according to a default starting position and an optimum focusing position. A first focusing zone is formed between the default starting position and the middle threshold position. A second focusing zone is formed between the middle threshold position and the optimum focusing position. The setting module sets a first focusing movement step pitch of the video module to be tested in the first focusing zone and a second focusing movement step pitch of the video module to be tested in the second focusing zone, and the first focusing movement step pitch being greater than the second focusing movement step pitch.
