The embodiments of the invention disclose a method and apparatus for amplifying an image. In real-time reading and amplifying an ultra-large image with high resolution of prior art, the ultra-large image is often subject to serial reading in a buffering region. Though for high frequency component and low frequency component, different algorithms are separately adopted in image processing of prior art, traditional methods are slow to carry out the processing in terms of images with ultra-high resolution, too slow when high quality is required, or produce poor processing quality when are fast to process. The method and apparatus herein overcome the aforementioned technical problems. 本发明实施例公开了种图像放大方法及装置，用于解决现有技术在实时读取和处理超大高分辨率图像的放大过程中，般都是采用串行读取张超大图像放到个缓冲区进行处理，尽管对高频和低频分量分别采用不同算法进行图像处理，但是这些方法在处理超高分辨率图像速度还是慢，质量要求高时处理速度太慢，速度处理快时候，质量又达不到要求的技术问题。
