Summary:The invention relates to an optical leakage current sensor based on a garnet. The optical leakage current sensor comprises a laser, a first lens, a detection unit, a second lens and an optical receiver. The detection unit is formed by a garnet module, graphite and a detected module, which are attached from the front to back in sequence. The area of the graphite is larger than that the area of the garnet module; the garnet module and the graphite form a sensing module; laser light output by the laser is focused by the first lens and is then, output to the detection unit; the incident light passes through the garnet module and reaches the graphite; then the light is reflected by the graphite and passes through the garnet module again to form reflected light, which is output; and the light output from the detection unit is focused by the second lens and then, is received by the optical receiver.
